Neşe Yaşın is a poet born in Nicosia. She is well known and read on both sides of divided Cyprus. She is currently teaching language and literature at the Turkish Studies Department of the University of Cyprus, writing weekly columns for Yenidüzen newspaper (Cyprus).
She has published nine volumes of poetry, a novel and a research book. Her poetry has been translated to 38 languages, published in literary magazines and anthologies in several countries. Her selected poems have been published as books in English and in Greek. She has participated in poetry festivals and readings around the world. Among others she has received the Anthias Pierides Award in 1998, Pierides award 2020 and European Citizen’s Prize in 2021.

Neşe Yaşın est une poète née à Nicosie. Elle est bien connue et lit des deux côtés de Chypre divisée. Elle enseigne actuellement la langue et la littérature au département d’études turques de l’université de Chypre, écrivant des chroniques hebdomadaires pour le journal Yenidüzen (Chypre).
Elle a publié neuf recueils de poésie, un roman et un livre de recherche. Sa poésie a été traduite en 38 langues, publiée dans des revues littéraires et des anthologies dans plusieurs pays. Ses poèmes ont été publiés sous forme de livres en anglais et en grec. Elle a participé à des festivals de poésie et à des lectures dans le monde entier. Elle a entre autres reçu le prix Anthias Pierides en 1998, le prix Pierides 2020 et le prix du citoyen européen en 2021.
