Poets of the Planet is proud to announce the creation of the Jack Hirschman International Poetry Prize. This award celebrates the legacy of Jack Hirschman, honoring his poetic and human values of social justice, international solidarity, and peace. Jack Hirschman was known for making poetry accessible to everyone, even in the streets, while producing a remarkable body of work that was both lyrical and epic. He also translated countless poets from diverse languages and played a key role in uniting poets globally. The prize will be awarded regularly to a poet who stands out for the quality of their work, their advocacy for poetry, and their dedication to freedom, social justice, and the preservation of life on Earth.
