LA LIBERTÀ
Uno scalino dopo l’altro
sarebbe troppo semplice
una salita senza la tensione
che ti metta alla prova
l’inciampo di un bisogno
in agguato troppo facile
sventare un fiasco
dirsi fratelli nello strappo
nel taglio con l’amaro
di un sorriso mai
abbastanza dilaniato.
Datemi pure una tenebra
abituale trascendetemi
la preda nel trionfo
di una maschera nei secoli
dei secoli blasfema cercatemi
la bussola senza direzione
la libertà arriva nuda.
THE FREEDOM
One step after another
that would be too simple
a climb without the tension
that tests you
the hurdle of a need
lurking too easy
to avoid a fiasco
call each other brothers in the rift
in the cut with the bitterness
of a smile ever
quite torn.
Give me an ordinary
darkness, too, transcend me
the prey in the triumph
of a mask blasphemous over
the centuries of the centuries, look for me
the directionless compass
freedom comes naked
s’alza il grido
mani levate al cielo
sugli occhi per coprire
lo spavento.
Dove tutto finisce
macerie e corpi
cantano la nota più cupa
che il cosmo raccoglie
del lutto.
Non bastano lacrime
a lavare la ferita nel buio
dove eravamo già stati
discendenti di Caino
ebreo cristiano o mussulmano
ti chiami assassino non più
uomo.
the cry goes up
hands raised to the sky
on the eyes to cover
the fear.
Where everything ends
rubble and bodies
sing the darkest note
of mourning that the cosmos
collects.
Tears are not enough
to wash the wound in the dark
where we had already been
descendants of Cain
Jewish Christian or Muslim
your name is murderer, not man
anymore.
